Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Charles Simon Associates are currently looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on a permanent basis for a fast growing business based in Doncaster.

Location: Doncaster (with 2/3 days WFH)

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum plus benefits

Skills/Requirements for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • Strong Virtualization experience ideally within VMware or Hyper-V
  • Extensive Windows Server experience
  • O365 experience
  • Basic networking skills around Cisco, DNS/DHCP
  • Backup experience, any vendor product; however, Veeam, Nakivo or Rubrik is highly preferred
  • Experience of working with firewalls, ideally Palo Alto, FortiGate, FortiNet or ASA

Highly Desirable Skills

  • Scripting experience within Terraform or PowerShell
  • SAN storage, any vendor product such as Nimble, NetApp, EMC, 3Par etc
  • Any SaaS technology such as Mimecast or Varonis

Start date is ASAP for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Analysing existing systems and business models recommending solutions and improvements
  • Migrating current systems into latest versions or into the cloud, including Design and Build
  • Authoring technical documents such as performance, specification, and solution designs.
  • Investigating, identifying, diagnosing, and resolving system related faults, escalating 3rd parties to maintain service levels.
  • Meeting SLA in delivering effective request fulfilment.
  • Maintaining and updating, systems, applications, hardware, and platforms.
  • Leading the development, configuration and deployment of systems and architectures in specific business, infrastructure, or functional areas.
  • Leading the preparation of technical plans and works with projects to ensure technical resources are assigned.
  • Contributing to the development of systems designs, standards and selection of architectural components of complex hardware, cloud systems and solutions.
  • Providing advice on technical aspects of solution development, integration, ensuring technical strategies, policies and standards are in place, including change.
  • Ensuring that solutions balance functional, service quality, security, systems management, and sustainability requirements.
