SQL DBA

Charles Simon Associates are currently looking for a SQL DBA on a permanent basis for our prestigious global business based in Central Manchester.

 

Location: Manchester/ (50% Home Based)

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum

 

Skills/Requirements for the SQL DBA:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Extensive SQL Server experience
  • Strong experience working on High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
  • Performance tuning and optimisation

 

Desirable Skills:

  • T-SQL
  • SSRS/SSIS
  • MS Azure/ cloud experience

 

Start date is ASAP for the SQL DBA

 

The SQL DBA will be responsible for:

  • Configuring, managing & maintaining SQL Servers across multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production
  • Supporting the development and delivery of SQL databases, SSIS packages, and other related processes, including performance testing, refactoring, and optimisation, across all environments
  • Contributing to the upgrade and modernisation programme of works, delivering Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Compliance, and ensuring best practices in SQL systems
  • Monitoring system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
  • Regularly updating on progress and notifying of any major problems and/or issues in a timely manner
  • Sharing domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to team members and the wider ICT Department
  • Taking ownership, investigating and resolving escalated tickets from the Service Desk and other support functions such as BI and Development.
