Junior Desktop Support Engineer

Charles Simon Associates are currently looking for a Junior Desktop Support Engineer on a permanent basis for our prestigious client based in the City of London.

 

Location: City of London

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

 

Skills/Requirements for the Junior Desktop Support Engineer:

  • Previous IT experience within a similar role
  • Exposure to Active Directory
  • Audio Visual experience either professionally or commercially
  • Strong VPN skills
  • Previous experience of working and supporting MS Office products
  • Basic networking administration skills
  • ITIL Certificate is highly desirable
  • Windows Server

 

Start date is ASAP  for the Junior Desktop Support Engineer

 

The Junior Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Providing hands on support to colleagues who are experiencing desktop, operating system, application, telephony, and connectivity issues
  • Engaging colleagues in a consultative capacity, taking a thoughtful and customer service oriented approach, focusing on the root cause of the issue, to provide solutions and desired outcomes.
  • Performing hardware diagnostics and execute or coordinate repairs in a timely fashion
  • Providing 2nd level support for all incident escalations from 1st level support.
  • Planning, scheduling, and executing computer equipment installations, imaging, upgrades, and replacement projects.
  • Effectively translating colleague requests, business needs, and technical specifications into formal written Standard Operating Procedure documentation.
  • Completing thorough documentation of incidents and requests in service management tracking system, to ensure proper tracking of status, root cause resolution, and/or correct application of workarounds, etc..
  • Physical IT asset inventory and asset management associated with multiple offices
  • Coordinating audio/visual (AV) operations, including schedule, connect, and coordinate external video conferences with outside parties and conference room coordinators.
