Information Security Analyst

Charles Simon Associates are currently looking for a Junior Information Security Analyst on a permanent basis or our prestigious and fast growing company based in Manchester.

Location: Manchester/Home Based

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Skills/Requirements for the Junior Information Security Analyst:

  • A basic understanding of Information Security for business
  • Desire to enhance knowledge and develop further skills within the field by dedicated self-study.
  • A basic understanding of risk management and control frameworks;
  • A basic understanding of Data Protection controls and practices
  • An appreciation for Information Security and the enthusiasm to develop within the role

The following certifications are desirable:

  • CREST CPSA / CRIA / CMRE / CNIA / CHIA
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CompTIA Network+

Start date is ASAP for the Junior Information Security Analyst

The Junior Information Security Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring for unauthorised or illegal activity
  • Working with external security professionals and business stakeholders to simulate security breaches and document incident response plans as required
  • Monitoring identify and access management, including monitoring for abuse of permissions by authorised system users
  • Researching/evaluating emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them
  • Planning for disaster recovery and work with stakeholders to create business contingency plans.
  • Liaising with stakeholders in relation to cyber security issues and provide future recommendations
  • Generating reports for both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders
  • Maintaining the information security risk register and assist with internal and external audits relating to information security
  • Assisting with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness training
