Head of Infrastructure

The Company:

Charles Simon Associates are proud to be partnering with a well-established, national organisation to recruit for a Head of Infrastructure on a permanent basis. Our client operates across multiple UK sites, including several offices in the North West and London, and is investing heavily in strengthening its technology landscape.

 

Location: Manchester / Hybrid (on-site when required)

Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum DOE + Bonus + Benefits

Start Date: ASAP

 

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of Infrastructure to join a progressive business and take full ownership of their infrastructure strategy, leadership, and delivery. You will lead a team of up to 10, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of systems while playing a key role in the company’s technology roadmap.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of infrastructure professionals (approx. 10 staff).
  • Define and deliver the company’s infrastructure strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee BAU operations and ensure service excellence across internal teams and 3rd-party vendors.
  • Drive standardisation and optimisation across the IT environment.
  • Maintain and advance Cyber Security compliance (Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO27001).
  • Act as the escalation point for infrastructure and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business on projects and transformation programmes.
  • Remain hands-on where required, supporting Azure, O365, and wider Microsoft technologies.

 

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as Head of Infrastructure, Infrastructure Manager, or similar senior IT leadership role.
  • Strong technical grounding within Azure, Microsoft 365, and related cloud technologies.
  • Experienced in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and vendor relationship experience.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security standards (Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO27001).
  • Experience supporting application delivery or development teams is advantageous.
