1st/2nd Line Support Engineer

Charles Simon Associates are currently looking for a 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer on a permanent basis for a large national business.

Location: Newport

Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum

Skills/Requirements for the 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong Windows desktop support with 7/8/10
  • Active Directory experience
  • Hardware troubleshooting support with Printers, terminals, monitors etc
  • Ability to work to key SLA’s
  • Some Windows Server experience is highly desirable
  • Any o365 experience is highly desirable
  • Start date is ASAP for the 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer

The 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all queries to the IT team are logged using the IT Helpdesk System and that a response is provided in a timely manner.
  • Prioritising the different tickets that are allocated
  • Keeping the IT asset register up to date.
  • Providing first line telephone and desktop support to users.
  • Providing knowledge and support on the Company’s internal systems, including, Microsoft Windows, MS Office. UNITY (ERP), Printing, Network etc.
  • Liaising with other IT team members to escalate & action IT queries as appropriate.
  • Providing hands on knowledge of the procedures used in the installation, modification maintenance and repair of IT hardware and software.
  • Supporting users in the use of computer equipment through advice and informal training.
